i was refing at ted horwood 1 on sunday and noticed large rubber mats covering the pitch in the middle if the field, i had a chat with the home team coach and he said they had been playing on it for a couple of years now, when i looked in my hand book (2010 edition) page 4 parragraph 2 states "the pitch is required to be covered by soil and/or soil and grass." i allowed the game to go ahead as they had been playing there for a while without incidenty. the questions is should i have abandoned the game as the the field did not comply with what was written in my hand book ??
cheers
