Hi, I often end up doing the leftover senior games that dont have refs appointed at our field, which I usually enjoy. On the weekend there was some idiots on the sideline drinking and causing trouble, after speaking to their bench they were removed and quitened down but it got me thinking.
As a ref (assuming we are always told that all referees have the same powers once they enter the field of play official or unoffficial). If someone on the bench is getting too loud, they can be sent out of the technical area? correct? If someone is sent out of the technical area but continues to carry on or if a supporter who is out of the technical area carries on, is there a next step? Can you send someone outside the complex or is that for ground officials only.
Cheers, and love your work.

G'day casual ref, your voice sounds familiar somehow...
I'm assuming "Someone on the bench" is either an interchange player or team official - anyone else (Eg. Supporters) is not entitled to be within the technical area in any case and should be asked to leave.
An interchange player is subject to the authority of the referee and may be shown the yellow and/or red card. In the case of a red card, the player must then leave the technical area and the vicinity of the Field Of Play (the roped-off area.)
A team official (coach or manager etc) can also be directed to leave the technical area and the vicinity of the FOP. The law gives the referee (as you say, black and white or otherwise) the authority to expel team officials who act irresponsibly.
Someone outside the roped-off area (say a spectator) who is causing trouble should be dealt with by the ground official. A player or official who has already received his marching orders likewise, although they can become the subject of a separate incident report.
Honestly though, if the situation becomes unsafe you may be better to cut your losses and abandon the match.
My 2c worth...
