What instructions do you give when teams are lined up to shake hands and you do the toss of the coin?

You're home team, you're visitors. Heads or tails. Enjoy the game guys.

My routine... Shake hands with each captain. Say to the home captain "We'll let the visitors call" Say to the away captain "Heads or tails" Toss the coin. Then..."Team A to kickoff"...then "Good luck!"
Anything other than that sounds contrived or patronising.
In finals, you usually offer a quick reminder on changed procedures. cheers

Oh one thing I did forget was introductions of myself and the ref team.

Good responses, no talks to the players, no explaining anything really.
If I get this correctly:
- Introduce names and assistant referees names to captains - Say to home team we let the visitors call...ok - Heads or tails to the visitors (or field or shield if you have the gdfra tossing coin) - Ok, good luck

I agree, any specific instructions should be given to the coaches or captains before the game (eg remind your players to take out any jewellary and that is all I say even then so it does not come back to bite me).
I personally: 1) introduce myself and and AR's. 2) show my coin to the away team and ask them to call in the air (shield or field in GDFRA games, FNSW or Fair Play on FNSW Games) 3) Which way would you like to go. 4) "Club name" - it will be your kick off 5) Good luck gentlemen/ladies 6) Shake hands with my AR's and get in positions
