Smivvy,
It is raining here. Round 4 was washed out and then scheduled to be played this Monday. So, of course, it is now raining. Looks like little chance of any games this weekend.

The Forum has gone dead again - looks like everyone has gone to sleep as the season is over! Is anyone awake out there; does anyone care? Let's have some discussion and particpation. Are you all involved in cricket and couldn't care less about soccer?
I know the passion is there for some; was at a 50th party the other night with heaps of soccer players, friends I have known for years - they still have the passion!Webmaster - GDSRA

STILL DEAD even with questions put in to stir up some discussion. I guess it is who cares attitude? Well perhaps the webmaster shouldn't care too however, he does and it is a crying shame that our resources aren't used as much as overseas people are using them!

I even tried to bait Legend into firing up, but he was too crafty to bite (

On topic, for a change, ausref, and gdsfa player's site are equally dead as well. Everyone is having an off season, I guess.

True but still no excuse for their attitude of I couldn't care less! The passion seems to have gone for many! Perhaps it is me, perhaps I am getting old and less tolerant, perhaps I should just walk away and spend more time on me and my family.

Hey DS,
I know people don't seem to be participating in the forum but have you noticed that the number of guests that seem to come to the forum is always in double figures.
According to the poll on the home page over 30 people have used the forum in the past 24 hours.
Also you notice how many times a message has been read.
I know I normally have a quick look every day to see what new topics have been added but I don't sign in. So I think it's a double edged sword.
If you made the forum only accessible by signing in then you would loose those who couldn't be bothered. Then there is no guarantee others would will participate anyway they may only sign in and read. At least it seems to me that people are reading the forum but how you get them to post I have no idea.

DS, I can't speak, or type, for the others, but I'm rather busy with work and football stuff. We did have a burst with some new members, but sadly, they no longer participate. :-( If I was considered by you as one of the "bursts" as a new forum member, you can be rest assured that I'm a stayer and not a sprinter. I too, was very busy at work, as a chauffeur, leading up to Christmas and now have spare time to contribute to the various forums. I'm with the others; as a non GDSRA referee I have always found your website forum to of use to referees worldwide as is your excellent website (don't tell GHSRA I said that). It would be a pity to close it. Hey guys start using it and support your forum! It is a valuable resource and tool for your members. Well done DS and keep up the good work even if some don't support you or value your efforts as legend feels. You deserve more credit for what you have achieved; you have brought your association into the real world with your efforts. Not every association can say they have a first rate website and modern up to date facility providing valuable information and resources to their members. Fellow GDSRA members start using your forum and your website more! Perhaps if it wasn't there you might realise what you are missing!!! I am also with GHSRA and I completely agree with the entire post by cardhappyref. Don't worry, mum's the word. Please support the work your webmaster and moderators are doing and have your say.
