Refereeing in York Football League has so far been a very pleasant experience. Players and officials all get together for a friendly chat and refreshments after the game which are provided by the home club. I had some mild dissent last week from just two players (gave warnings but no cards). At the end of the game both warned dissenting players were the first to run up to me and apologise - 'Sorry about that ref, nothing personal, you had a good game thanks', then a firm handshake. Its a whole new world! www.yorkleague.org.uk/matchOfficials/
