The attacking team is about to take a corner.
One attacker heads over to the corner and takes it by tapping the ball into play.
Another attacker at the same time calls that they will go over for it.
This somewhat deceives the defenders into thinking 2nd attacker is going over to take the corner, rather than get the ball, and so the defenders do nothing and wait for the 2nd attacker.
The 2nd attacker then gets to the ball and runs it a bit closer in and then shoots at goal.
Would you allow this to occur?
What about if the team captain warns you before the game starts and says, "good afternoon referee, just to let you know to watch the corners closely as we have a pretty tricky one. Some referees are not watching close enough some weeks and so they tell us to retake it."
My thought is to allow it to go ahead as the LOTG say that the ball is in play from a corner kick once it has been kicked and moved.

If the second attacker moves over without saying something like 'I'll take it" but just appears to be going over to take it, then all is fine and dandy to me. if they do call out something to imply it hasn't been taken then i think that infringes on the spirit of the game. /typo corrected

For me, tricks are allowed in the game. For example with a corner if a player goes to take a kick long (as indicated by a long run up) and knocks it short, play on and if the defence is caught napping their problem. However, if they use deception to trick then it moves towards unsporting behaviour. In the OP where a player taps it and the second calls out "I'll take it" (or whatever) to stop the defenders moving to the ball I would stop play and caution the attacker (that shouted) for USB and restart with an IDK where the ball was before the second contact.
This is just like calling "mine". In reality there is nothing wrong with the call. However, if it is called to deceive the opposition to stop them challenging, then it is a caution and IDK for the opposition.
