What's the local rule with players wearing full length skins on their legs? I understand that players can cite cultural reasons, and this is fine.
However if not wearing for cultural reasons, then players need to remove skins (law 4) unless goalie.
I believe the key reason is that (a) they give players an advantage (extra strength in leg), and (b) they are not affordable by all hence unfair.

The reason is that FIFA says they look unprofessional basically.
Locally the FIFA laws apply and not even goal keepers can wear long skins under their shorts AFAIK. They however just wear long skins or wear long pants with long skins underneath.
Hope that helps.

I was at a FNSW GPT recently where a futsal keeper had been sent off for long skins. The keepers claim was upheld and the referees basically instructed to back off on the long skins for a keeper (being viewed as trivial). Mind you this keeper had black shorts, socks and knee guards with black long skins under. Food for thought.
